Good Morning and Happy New Year Everyone!  Today is the first day of 2012 and I think that we should get to know each other a little bit better.  Let’s learn some new things about each other for the New Year!

WHY: Because I Love Writing and I Love Money.  Writing, like most forms of art, is therapeutic.  It is a healthy outlet for sharing all of my creative ideas, rants, and daily experiences.

NKOTBSB Concert Review

On Tuesday June 7 I went to the Bell Center in Montreal to see the NKOTBSB Concert with my friend Gabriella.  As I was born in 1980 and admittedly I totally love the New Kids on the Block.  I saw them 3 times when I was younger in the 1990’s, and I was extremely excited to see them again in 2011.  My teddy bear is named Jordan after Jordan Knight.  I received my teddy bear Jordan as a Christmas gift in 1989, and 22 years later I still sleep with him every night.

The Bell Center was packed with screaming teenagers, young adults, and some not so young women.  I was very impressed to see the age range of NKOTBSB female fans, along with some male fans.  I was also impressed that people wore NKOTBSB t-shirts and made posters; it was like being back in the 1990’s all over again.

I originally bought tickets to see New Kids on the Block, and I was surprised to learn that I really like The Backstreet Boys.  I was singing along to all of The Backstreet Boys songs just as much as I was singing along to the New Kids on the Block songs. It was fun to take a night off from being a young professional and become a fun loving screaming NKOTBSB fan!

The NKOTBSB concert was complete with all the greatest hits such as The Right Stuff, Quit Playing Games With My Heart, Cover Girl, I Want It That Way, and Step by Step.  The encore performances were Hangin Tough by NKOTB and Everybody by BSB.

I have to be honest; I thought that The Backstreet Boys were better on stage than New Kids on the Block.  The Backstreet Boys performance was more energetic and they had more audience interaction than New Kids on the Block.  The Backstreet Boys brought four female fans onto the stage out of the audience to personally serenade them.  Some of the girls were singing along, one looked like she was going to cry, and the other one was so shocked (or scared) that she didn’t move an inch throughout the whole song.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself during the night of the NKOTBSB concert in Montreal, partially because of the boy band show and partially because of my fun loving friend Gabriella.  I always have a great time whenever we hang out together.  Our night was complete with dancing, screaming, and carefree fun.  The NKOTBSB concert was complete with synchronized dance moves, heart-throbbing songs, pelvis thrusting, and a shirtless Donnie. When you are the brother of Marky Mark it’s only normal to have a hot body!

The one thing that Gabriella and I did not do was buy any souvenirs.  I know that NKOTBSB fans have grown up from teenagers into young adults with disposable income but seriously…$25 for a flashing glow light or a pair of I heart NKOTBSB underwear is totally ridiculous!

I am going to the NKOTBSB Concert!

I am going to the Montreal NKOTBSB concert on June 7 and I can’t wait.  Seeing New Kids on the Block perform with the Backstreet Boys at the 2010 American Music Awards brought back a whole lot of childhood memories for me.

When I was younger, I was totally obsessed with Jordan from New Kids on the Block.  For Christmas in 1989 I got a brown teddy bear for Christmas and I named him Jordan.  He almost looks exactly like the Snuggle Fabric Softener Bear, he is just a bit darker shade of brown.  Now I am 30 years old (and I live with my boyfriend) and I still sleep with Jordan every single night.  Jordan has travelled the world with me from Florida and New York to France and Spain.

I think my inner groupie came out when I saw New Kids on the Block perform with the Backstreet Boys at the American Music Awards. I am so excited to go to the Montreal NKOTBSB concert on June 7.  In case you missed it, here is the NKOTBSB performance from the American Music Awards. You will notice 2 blond girls in the audience who are going crazy…that will be me at the NKOTBSB concert, except I’ll be wearing an I Heart Jordan t shirt.

Of course I couldn’t help but notice the similarities in band members between the 2 groups. Nick Carter from BSB is Joey in NKOTB, Brian in BSB is Donnie from NKOTB, Kevin from BSB is Jonathan from NKOTB, Howie in BSB is Danny from NKOTB, and AJ from BSB is Jordan from NKOTB (in a weird way).   My favourite BSB used to be Brian but now I think it is Nick Carter.

I have been listening to the New Kids on the Block all weekend; so to start off your Monday right I thought that I would share my 3 favourite New Kids on the Block songs.

What is your favourite New Kids on the Block song?

You’ve Got It (The Right Stuff ). Who doesn’t love this song? The dancing makes it so much better!

Of course Hangin Tough is on my list. This was the very first NKOTB song that I ever heard.  It is classic New Kids on the Block.

I love the song Step by Step by New Kids on the Block.  I am starting to notice that my 3 favourite videos all have signature NKOTB dance moves.  I love that they are on stairs in this video and the song is called Step by Step. LOL. Too Funny.

Does anyone else think that Danny from NKOTB looks like John Travolta as Danny in Grease?
