Dear America, please vote for President Obama today.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Voting Day in the U.S.A.  If you are an avid reader of My Diary Entry then you know exactly how much I love President Obama and his family.

I am not going to bore you with all of the reasons why you should vote for President Obama to be elected into a second term because if you are intelligent then you already know all of the reasons.  But just in case you aren’t intelligent enough to know how amazing President Obama is and how good he is for America, please allow me to school you with a little Top 5 List a la David Letterman style. As a Canadian I don’t get a vote, but if I did it would definitely be for President Obama.

Top 5 Reasons to Vote for President Barack Obama:

- He is smart, intelligent and Harvard Law educated.

- President Obama is a true gentleman and he has the image of a true leader.

- He needs another 4 years to clean up the mess that the Republicans left him back in 2008.

- President Obama honestly wants to make America better, he believes in the future of America.

- He is a man of his word. If he wants to make America better he will, he just needs a chance.

Top 5 Reasons NOT to Vote for the Republicans:

- Mitt Romney is not smart, not educated and not well spoken.

- Republicans don’t care about you and me, they only care about their rich friends.

- The Republicans goal is to cut taxes for themselves and for their rich friends.

- Mitt Romney is not a gentleman, he is not well behaved on television and he has no manners; do you really want him in charge of your country?

- Think about the last time you saw Mitt Romney on television or you heard him speak, does he really represent you as an American?

When you go out and vote today you should vote for the man that best represents you.  Vote for the man who represents your definition of America.  Vote for the man that you would like to have as your professor, neighbour and co-worker.

VOTE FOR PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!

Obama to Letterman: “Welcome to My Life”

Tuesday night I stayed up late to watch President Obama on The Late Show with David Letterman and as always I am happy to say that President Obama didn’t disappoint.  If you have ever met me in person or if you read my daily personal finance blog at Dinks Finance then you know that I absolutely love President Barack Obama and everything that he stands for.

President Obama is a man of the people; he is a loving husband and a protective father.  When Barack Obama talks about America he includes himself as a part of the people.  This confirms that President Obama considers himself both as an American leader as well as a contributing member of the American population he does not consider himself to be superior to anyone. President Obama is trying to act in the best interest of America because he is a proud American.

Whether President Obama is addressing his supporters at the Democratic National Convention or he is addressing his fellow Americans from the White House President Barack Obama always speaks lovingly about his wife, the First Lady Michelle Obama.  Last night Barack Obama told David Letterman that he very often lives in the shadow of his charismatic, personable, and always classy wife Mrs. Michelle Obama, “Welcome to My Life” said Obama.

President Obama is the Future of America

I am Canadian and therefore in November I don’t get a vote as to who becomes the next President of the United States of America, but my hypothetical vote absolutely goes to President Obama.  I would love to see America vote in President Barack Obama for a second term because I would like him to have the chance to finish what he started.  President Obama is educated, intelligent, well spoken, genuine, and honest; these are the exact qualities that make a great leader.

President Obama admitted to David Letterman that America is not exactly where he hoped it would be, but he confirms that it has gotten better. During the recession 9 million American jobs were lost, but Obama’s plans have recovered 800,000 jobs for the American people.  He admits that there is still a long way to go before America is fully recovered from the damage that Republicans created during their recent eight years in office, but Obama is doing the best he can with lack of cooperation that he is receiving from the Republicans in the Congress.

Barack Obama is in America’s Best Interest

If the Republicans were really acting in the best interest of the American people they would let Obama make changes that benefit America.  However the Republicans are not cooperating with President Obama and they are not acting in the best interest of the American people, they are just blocking changes brought on by an opposing political party.

President Obama confirmed to David Letterman that when Bill Clinton was President America had a surplus of cash. Eight years later, after the Republicans served two terms in office, America now has a huge deficit that some say is tearing the country apart.

In November the American people should vote for the presidential candidate who they can relate to and who they would like to live next door to.  I don’t know about you, but I would love to live next door to an intelligent, hardworking man and his loving family.

New York City is Not the Same, but I Still Love It.

My recent trip to NYC was definitely an eye opener on just how sever the global economic crisis has affected New York City.  My trip to NYC was primarily a business trip because I had to open a US Bank Account in order to receive payments from my new Freelance Employers .  I absolutely didn’t mind having to book a last minute trip to New York right before the holidays because I always have time in my life for New York City.

I have never been to New York City before Christmas.  I have been to the city for New Years Eve, but never during the madness that leads up to the holidays.  The city was packed with people and the streets were very busy all the way from Canal to Broadway.  There were line ups everywhere and every single store was packed with holiday shoppers who were trying to get the best deals for everyone on their Christmas List.  And let me tell you, boy did we get some great deals.

Although retailers on the non mainstream streets like Canal in Chinatown have significantly increased their prices for accessories, the major retailers have dropped their prices in order to be affordable for everyone.  I bought $48 sweaters at American Eagle and Aeropostal for only $12!  I am not sure if the major discounts were because of the holiday season or if they are because a discounted $12 is better than $0 for retail stores who are struggling through these tough economic times.

It wasn’t the massive crowds that were the biggest surprise for me during this trip to New York; it was definitely how much the vibe of NYC has changed over the past 3 years. New York will always have a special place in my heart and I still hope to live their some day.  However, the crisis that the American people have suffered through over the past few years has definitely taken its toll on the vibrant life of the city that never sleeps.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn near Wall Street in the Financial District of Downtown Manhattan, which we purchased at a discount rate through Priceline.  This was the perfect location for our stay because it was close to the subway, it was close to restaurants, and it was also close to the major discount store Century 21.  I absolutely love shopping for accessories at Century 21.

Staying in Manhattans Financial District also means that we were close the construction site of the new World Trade Center. There are 3 new towers being built on the World Trade Center construction site, and there is also a new memorial museum which is currently open for business.  The rebuilding of the World Trade Center in New York City shows exactly how the American people can come together and stand strong during the time of a crisis.  Let’s hope that the American people will come together next November when they visit the polls to re-elect the President of the United States of America.
